Science Serving Maryland's Coasts
I have more than 40 years of experiences in fisheries science and ecology, and in management of fisheries resources. Houde̥s research emphasizes factors that contribute to variability in abundances of marine and estuarine fishes. Recruitment success in fishes typically varies by a factor or 10 or more. Discovering causes of this variability and quantifying effects of environmental factors on reproductive success are areas of emphasis.
