Purpose:

The Sponsorship Program is designed to support events that will increase awareness within the targeted audience about issues pertaining to restoration and protection of the natural resources of the Chesapeake and/or Maryland’s other watersheds. The Chesapeake Bay Trust will entertain requests to sponsor events, such as conferences, festivals, and forums that allow the Trust to advance its mission. The Trust will also entertain requests that promote the two major sources of revenue for the Trust, the “Treasure the Chesapeake” license plate program and the Chesapeake and Endangered Species Tax Check-off on the Maryland State income tax.

Funding Range:

Up to $5,000. Typically $500 for marketing support and $1,000 for programmatic support.

Restoration Activity:

Educational outreach at conferences, festivals, forums, events, etc.

Eligibility:

Non-profit organizations, community associations, faith-based organizations and more. Sponsorships must serve a Maryland audience; however, it may be located anywhere within the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
