Purpose:

USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) works with local groups to help prevent floods, protect watersheds, improve agricultural water management and enhance wildlife habitat through this program.

$150 million

Restoration Activity:

Projects related to watershed protection, flood mitigation, water supply, water quality, erosion and sediment control, wetland creation and restoration, fish and wildlife habitat enhancement, agricultural water conservation, and public recreation are eligible for assistance. Technical and financial assistance is also available for planning new watershed surveys.

Eligibility:

Eligible project sponsors are county agencies, soil and water conservation districts, flood prevention/flood control districts, or other subunits of state government with the authority and capacity to carry out, operate and maintain installed works of improvement.
