Thank you for your interest. We are no longer accepting applications. Learn more about our Chesapeake Rising researchers below.

Law students and recent graduates were invited to contribute research on issues facing coastal communities for a special edition of the Sea Grant Law & Policy Journal focused on Chesapeake Rising: Innovative Law and Policy Solutions for Climate Adaptation in Coastal Communities.

We selected six law students and early career professionals to curate their work and present their research at the Chesapeake Rising symposium. After the symposium, two additional researchers were invited to write law review articles related to coastal resiliency in the Chesapeake Bay.

These eight researchers submitted first drafts of their law review articles September 1, 2025. A peer-review committee is now anonymously reviewing the journal articles before their publication in this special edition of the Sea Grant Law & Policy Journal.
