Building off the momentum of the Built Environmental Design for Climate Resilient Coastal Communities Roundtable held in May 2023, Maryland Sea Grant is exploring options to continue this work in 2024.
Maryland Sea Grant has worked with DO Architecture Group and graduate students at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University to launch a pilot design studio project focused on Cambridge, Maryland. The studio explored the relationships among architecture, culture, and urban form and focused on how to design for resilient communities in the future. Additionally, several webinars from key partners in the region helped frame the students’ designs.
An exhibition in Cambridge, Maryland, on December 3, 2024, will showcase the students’ work, their design process, our partnership model, and steps forward.
